Eberhard Kern has been appointed as the new Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, replacing Peter Honegg who had a relatively short stint at the post.
Kern is a veteran at Daimler, having spent three decades with the company. Kern now has the task to take the brand forward as the company has high expectations from the market and are bullish about their presence in the country.
Mercedes-Benz will be introducing a couple of compact models including a SUV and the A-Class in the near future. Speaking on the occasion Kern said, “The New Generation Cars from the Mercedes stable will, in my opinion, play a pivotal role and our wide network of dealers are poised to support the growth. In short, the fundamentals are strong and we look forward to sustained profitable growth in the next years.”
