The Mercedes-Benz GLE 250 d and 350 d have been launched in India, priced at Rs 58.9 and 68.9 lakh respectively (both ex-showroom, Delhi). Mercedes-Benz took the covers of the GLE-Class today, and as expected, only both diesel variants have been brought here, and will be sold through the CKD route in an effort to keep prices competitive.
The model range features a whole host of kit to go with those 2.2-litre 204 PS and 500 Nm in-line four and 3.0-litre 258 PS and 620 Nm V6 engine options. This includes a brand new 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic gearbox, 4MATIC all-wheel-drive, AIRMATIC air suspension system, and more.
Essentially a replacement for the ML-Class, the GLE has ML inspired styling cues with a few twists such as a new grille and LED headlamps thrown into the mix. The interiors see the introduction of new dials and redesigned seats, and an 8” COMAND Online included. A whole complement of Mercedes-Benz safety kit including curve dynamic assist providing ESP, crosswind assist, a brake assistance system, attention assist, active parking assist, 6 airbags and more.
