Company to launch car developed all by itself in 2012
Yes, it’s true. India’s best-selling car-maker has already begun work on a small car that will be developed solely by Maruti without Suzuki involvement.
The company will finalise the design and engine options in the coming six months and we anticipate the new car to make its début at the 2012 Auto Expo followed by a launch in the second quarter of 2012. This new car will enter the crowded entry-level hatchback market and is expected to rival the Hyundai Santro and Maruti Suzuki’s own Alto. The starting price is expected to be in the range of Rs 2-2.5 lakh.
