Magneti Marelli India Pvt Ltd – a joint venture between Magneti Marelli, Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki Motor Company, recently inaugurated a new industrial set-up for the production of AMT(Automated Manual Transmission) gearboxes.

The new plant is located in Manesar, near Gurgaon and is spread across 7,500 square-meters, housing a state-of-the-art production line and offices. The plant will employ approximately 115 workers and will be able to churn out 2,80,000 AMT units in a year.

This new plant has been created to address the growing demand for AMTs in the country. Currently the Maruti Celerio, Maruti Alto, Tata Nano and the Tata Zest carry the Magneti Marelli AMT gearbox.
