Mahindra Adventure invited Car India to experience the 124th edition of the Mahindra Great Escape at Lonavala, near Pune. Here is all the action

In keeping with their custom to go off the beaten path, Mahindra Adventure recently organised an off-roading weekend at Lonavala, near Pune. With over 100 of the company’s 4WD machines taking part in various events such as the 10-km jungle drive, 2WD obstacle course and the Mahindra Off-road Trophy, the whole atmosphere was electrifying.
The participants were allowed to take part in any of these events. As for myself, I am an off-road enthusiast, so I decided to take part in the trophy challenge, which is an extreme off-roading event. What a way to start a weekend!
After a sumptuous breakfast all the participants were briefed about the event, the different challenges involved, and the points system. There were three stages: a stream crossing, the slush pit, and the rock crawl. Each participant would be marked on skill and vehicle preservation.
After the briefing, it was time to rock and roll. I was given the key to a 2015 Mahindra Thar. Highly excited, I was ready to put the Thar to the test.
