Another milestone for Maruti Suzuki. This time with their premium hatchback, Baleno

Maruti Suzuki have crossed another sales milestone. This time they have done it with their premium hatchback; the Baleno. The car was launched in the festive season of 2015 and has gained popularity among the buyers rather quickly, perhaps, due to its appealing looks and feature-loaded interiors. The Baleno is a handsome car overall and has a comfortable cabin to brag about as well. Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki have revealed that the India-made Balenos are also exported to Japan.

Retailed out of their NEXA showrooms, the Baleno is available in both petrol and diesel options with a total of three engines. The four-cylinder 1.3-litre turbo diesel churns out 75 PS and a peak torque of 190 Nm. The petrol models are powered by a four-cylinder 1.2-litre engine that produces 84 PS and a peak torque of 115 Nm. Also on offer is the Baleno RS which gets the three-pot, 1.0-litre engine that makes 102 PS and 150 Nm. Of the six variants on offer, only the top-end petrol gets a CVT while the rest feature a five-speed manual gearbox. The Baleno’s price starts at Rs 5.40 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.58 lakh; both prices are ex-showroom.

Commenting on the milestone, R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki, said, ‘Baleno has become a resounding success in the highly competitive premium hatchback segment. It is a testimony of our best in class technology and customer experience. Our engineers have ensured that Baleno offers superior ride and handling, class-leading performance and safety. With a staggering 20.6 per cent growth in first half of 2018-19, Baleno has been among the top selling cars in India, since 2016. We are grateful for our customers’ constant support that has made Baleno India’s most preferred premium hatchback.’
