Are fuel prices still bothering you? Are you still debating whether you should opt for or a petrol or diesel car for your daily commute in the city? Well, fear not as Mahindra have got just the perfect solution for all your problems.

However, first of all let’s take you down memory lane. Way back in 2001, a tiny electric car was the talk of the town in automotive circles. It was called the Reva. According to a lot of critics, its toy-like appearance and its petite frame were something which was only fit for the fair sex and the elderly. Two years later, there was a minor upgrade in the form of the Reva i, but, sadly, it was also a no-show.

Fast-forward to the year 2014 and the blokes at Mahindra are back with an all-new electric vehicle (EV) offering for the masses in the from of the new Reva e2o T2 premium variant. The E-two-oh is manufactured at Mahindra’s state-of-the-art facility in Bengaluru and I wanted to see for myself how good this new update actually was.

The new Reva e2o is quite a looker and even though it’s a tiny car, it’s light-years ahead of its predecessors in terms of styling. The e2o is a much longer and wider, and is loaded with a lot of amazing features. The front end of this car is quite distinctive; its flashy projector headlights are shiny and its sharp body-lines make the car look edgy. Unfortunately, when it comes to the rear end, it’s downright bland, the only exception being the neat LED tail-lamp set-up.

The high-quality colour-impregnated plastic body panels on the e2o boast of a decent fit and finish, although I did find some uneven panel gaps on the exterior. Even though it’s a two-door hatch, it has enough room for four grown-ups. The boot, on the other hand, is just big enough for a couple of your grocery bags along with a few tit-bits. Two sets of flashy alloys wrapped in sticky tubeless Hankook tyres complete the Reva’s exterior look.
