In one of the rare departures from the established trend at this year’s Auto Expo, BMW India launched the all-new X1 and 7 Series from Rs 29.9 lakh and Rs 1.1 crore respectively.

The all-new BMW X1 made its début at the Auto Expo 2016 and is now on sale at BMW dealerships across the country. The X1 will only be available with the 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo diesel engine in sDrive rear-wheel-drive format or xDrive all-wheel-drive with the eight-speed automatic. The company will introduce a petrol-powered option later in the year. The prices of the new BMW X1 are as follows, all ex-showroom, Delhi:

X1 sDrive 20d Expedition: Rs 29.9 lakh
X1 sDrive 20d xLine: Rs 33.9 lakh
X1 xDrive 20d xLine: Rs 35.9 lakh
X1 xDrive 20d M Sport: Rs 39.9 lakh

BMW also launched the new 7 Series, the G12 long-wheelbase model brings in a whole new range of comfort, connectivity and safety technologies making this one of the most advanced cars on sale globally. Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and BMW India’s Philipp von Sahr revealed the car. Among the features on offer are the LED Welcome Carpet approach lighting, wireless charging, tablet-control interface for rear-seat occupants and re-imagined ambient lighting.

The 7 Series is available as a 730Ld, with the 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo diesel straight-six now making 265 PS and 620 Nm, or a more powerful 750Li, with the 4.4-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol V8 continuing with 450 PS and 650 Nm. The company should introduce the 740Li, with the 326-PS/450-Nm 3.0-litre  TwinPower Turbo straight-six petrol as well as the 740e hybrid (with the same engine and electric support) in the future. The 730Ld and 750Li are offered with the eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and rear-wheel-drive only, available in Design Pure Excellence (DPE) and M Sport trims. The 730Ld is being assembled locally with 18″ alloy wheels.

Prices for the The new 7 Series (ex-showroom, Delhi) are as follows:
730Ld DPE: Rs 1.10 crore
730Ld M Sport: Rs 1.19 crore
730Ld DPE (CBU): Rs 1.40 crore
750Li DPE (CBU): Rs 1.50 crore
750Li M Sport (CBU): Rs 1.55 crore
